Off Port Limits (OPL) Instructions
- Communication between vessel and workboat one hour prior to arrival on VHF channel 12
- Master to contact CEUTA or ALGECIRAS traffic on VHF Channel 12 half an hour before vessel’s arrival to receive traffic information
- Keep stand by in VHF channel 12 during all the OPL call operation
- Master to slowdown in order to arrive almost at zero knots at the meeting point, keep a maximum speed of 2 knots until the moment the workboat is clear from vessel
- At any moment, the workboat skipper may take the decision to cancel the operation should there be any risk for the launch, crew, their passengers, goods and/or the environment.
